On guided meditation
When I speak to people about guided meditation I sometimes hear "I don't see anything!", "Others are seeing angels, guides, fairies or have other, most amazing, encounters but I only see black!". "What am I doing wrong?"
What do you mean, true Self? Is there a false Self? An untrue Self then? And does this mean there is more than one Self? Or is there only one Self? And what is this Self then?
I could write about this subject for hours, in smallest detail, but it is my challenge to inform you in such a way about the power of your true Self that this is short and clear. Simplicity is most powerful and for this complex subject, that will be my challenge.
Meditation is a way of consciously using the mind to achieve a certain effect, for example:
-relaxing your body and mind
-finding balance, peace and silence inside yourself
-contacting your own Wise Self
-finding inner answers
-visualizing wishes
Primarily, meditation is an exercise in "becoming silent in your mind". Pure meditation doesn't do anything, doesn't think anything, doesn't have to do anything. It is only silence inside. It is a state of being which can be achieved when you bring your mind to rest and allow your body to relax. The only thing that you "do" when meditating is experiencing your inner world.
There is a lot of misunderstanding about visualization. "I can't visualize" is what many people that say to us and this is something we want to give some attention to because everyone can do it! Visualizing is one of the powers of the True Self. It may however be that you have to learn how to make use of this skill again but this is by long not as difficult as you might think. It would be a shame if you would let yourself be scared off by those elaborate books that have been written about visualization and visualization techniques. Visualization in its purest form is nothing more than using your own never ending fantasy.
