The power of our true Self

What do you mean, true Self? Is there a false Self? An untrue Self then? And does this mean there is more than one Self? Or is there only one Self? And what is this Self then?

I could write about this subject for hours, in smallest detail, but it is my challenge to inform you in such a way about the power of your true Self that this is short and clear. Simplicity is most powerful and for this complex subject, that will be my challenge.

You probably read or heard somewhere about the idea that "all is one". Let me start to tell you that this is the most elusive concept existing in contemporary spirituality. It can be explained and interpreted in many ways and, even more, is different for everyone because every person experiences the truth of this concept in his or her own and unique ways. In this article, we want to share the way we see this concept with you. It's not the only way and it is always wise to feed your self with information from more than one source so that you can find Your Truth. Our way may feel good for you, it could even touch your heart. Or just not so. Always stay true to your own heart as it will guide you on your path.

All is one means there are no limits or separations. In fact, everything you think, do, feel, know and experience will instantly be added to this One consciousness. Many names and derivatives of these names are being used for this One Consciousness. Some of these names are: God/Goddess, the Source, the One, the Origin. The idea is always the same, that is: there is One Source from which all life comes forth.

In this respect there can only be one true Self. Let's call this, just for convenience's sake, Divine Self. The word God is best known in this context and is, for many people, a form of energy, an idea or a Conscious Being, or the personification of the omnipotent Force or Power. It is thought that God can perform miracles, God is pure love, God is all knowing..... these are all properties that we assign to God, the One, the Source, the Origin. This is why people speak about "the Almighty God". Almighty as in: having power over all, over all-that-is. The ultimate force or power. 

Now we will have a look at two important issues: Power and Separation.

The word "Power" often gives people an unpleasant feeling. To have power over something is an idea that creates a lot of inner resistance. Not surprisingly, because throughout history, mankind still has not learned the true use of Power. The power of the true Self of humans is the same power as the power of the almighty God. I can hear you think "blasphemy!". But know, that this learned reaction comes forth from a misconceived idea about the use of power. True power as meant in divine power, brings freedom. People that use and commit their true power, will do this to bring forth freedom, equality and kinship. Not only among people, but amongst all life.

People that use their true Power are conscious about the fact that all life is one. They realize that there is no separation except the separation in their own mind and thoughts. All they do for  men, animal, land or community, they do for themselves. All they don't do or fail to do.... they fail to do for themselves. They will take every opportunity to do that what they feel they can do. For you are never without power. Never ever! You have the same creative power as God!

Do you still feel resistance against this idea? Know then, that you are feeling the power of separation. This feeling of separateness makes it possible to have the idea that you are only "small" or "tiny" and that others have power over you. Think of a government, rules, a boss, a bank etc. On one hand, this is a pity because in reality, you are not dependent on anyone or anything except on that you choose to depend on, and on the other hand, it is fantastic. Fantastic? Yes! Because this is what makes you furious with injustice or makes that you end up at home with a  burn-out, feeling fatigued by your feeling of powerlessness. And that is great. It means that the journey of separation has almost ended for you. The mere fact that what you are reading now has come to your attention, is a sign that you have already started the journey back to your True Self. And also that you will rediscover the true force that belongs to Self. And through this regaining of consciousness, you will find your True Power again. Rejoice in learning to know the power of your True Self.

It doesn't matter who you are, what you are doing or what you have done, or what you didn't do; in the end we are all on the same journey home. One a bit sooner, one later but all in our own and unique way. All is relative. But there is one thing I am sure of; I know the power of my True Self. All I have to do now is to learn how to work with it and trust in it. This is an ongoing process, a journey full of adventure because there are many possible ways to find out about this Power and your True Self and to work with it.
