Imbolc Drum pilgrimage to Avalon Songline drumming
From February 5 to February 9 2009 in Glastonbury, UK, including participation in the weekend workshop "Drumming the dragonlines" by Jana Runnalls.
A drum pilgrimage to Avalon is dedicated to the healing power of the
(shaman) drum and sound, the transformational power of breath and song,
and the creative inspiring power you will find by connecting yourself
to the ancient sacred landscape of Avalon.
Jana's Drumming the Dragonlines-workshop will
be held from Friday evening 6 pm to Sunday 5 pm in the English language
inThe Meeting Room at the Chalice Well gardens (World Peace Garden).
As Jana says: "An opportunity to experience the alchemy of the Michael and Mary lines,
which meet in three different places within the sacred landscape of
Avalon. As the sun’s energy begins to increase, we will draw upon our
inner fire to tune into the subtle spiritual energies that criss-cross
the landscape and express it with ceremonial drumming. Activating our
own chakra systems with deep breathing and toning, we will extend our
awareness into the chakra body of the landscape, to awaken the sleeping
kundalini as winter begins to fade away. We will honour and balance
these masculine and feminine ‘Dragonlines’ with chants, songs, Sanskrit
mantras and Medicine Wheel rhythms."
Program
Thursday February 5, 2009
We leave early in the morning from train station Heerlen and travel in a minibus by land and sea to Glastonbury. We will take a coffee break and photostop at Stonehenge, Englands most famous prehistoric sacred site. Arrival at our accommodation in Glastonbury (with beautiful panorama of the Somerset levels and Tor views) is estimated at the end of the afternoon. In the evening we are going to visit the Holy Thorn on Wearyall Hill. Here we will light the fires that symbols the start of our Imbolc pilgrimage and tune in to the essence of Imbolc in Avalon by means of a guided shamanic drum journey. Meet Brigid, the maiden aspect of Mother Earth.
Friday February 6th, 2009
Watch the sunrise from the Glastonbury Tor. We will tell stories about the special properties of this magical hill that rests on ancient dragon paths. Many come here in search of a vision or inspiration. A powerful inner exercise will help you connect to the Earth consciousness to find your own vision or inspiration. In the afternoon you can pay a visit to Glastonbury's many new age and witches stores, meditate in the Glastonbury Goddess Temple or loose your self in the wonderful spiritual bookstores filled with magical books. At 6 pm the first part of the weekend workshop "Drumming the dragon lines" by Jana Runnalls will start. Evening meal included.
Saturday February 7th, 2009
Second part of the weekend drum workshop. From 10 am to 9 pm we will drum in The Meeting Room at the Chalice Well as well as at several powerful places outside. Lunch and evening meal are included.
