lammas-drum.jpgLughnasadh Drum pilgrimage to Avalon Bring the harvest home

From August 13 to August 17 2009 in Glastonbury, UK, including participation in the weekend workshop "Bring the harvest home" by Jana Runnalls.

A drum pilgrimage to Avalon is dedicated to the healing power of the (shaman) drum and sound, the transformational power of breath and song, and the creative inspiring power you will find by connecting yourself to the ancient sacred landscape of Avalon.

Jana's Bring the harvest home-
workshop will be held from Friday evening 6 pm to Sunday 5 pm in the English language in The Meeting Room at the Chalice Well gardens. This will be our base for the drum weekend but we will also go outside into the ancient Avalon landscape.

As Jana says: " A time to bring in both the personal and collective harvest: a weekend of ceremonial drumming and singing around the cross-quarters of the Medicine Wheel, focusing on a journey of self-discovery based on the sacred five rhythm. Once the fifth element has been activated within us, we find ourselves much more open to receiving the subtle spiritual teachings around the wheel of life. Beginning with self-concepts, we will take a journey to our higher selves, both metaphysically and rhythmically with our medicine drums. We can actualize the sacred dream that Lammas brings us, channeling the energies of the beautiful garden of Chalice Well, opening our throat chakras fully and taking flight as a beautiful Phoenix of transformation. "

Program
Thursday August 13, 2009

We leave early in the morning from train station Heerlen and travel in a minibus by land and sea to Glastonbury. We will take a coffee break and photostop at Stonehenge, Englands most famous prehistoric sacred site. Arrival at our accommodation in Glastonbury (with beautiful panorama of the Somerset levels and Tor views) is estimated at the end of the afternoon. In the evening we are going to visit the Holy Thorn on Wearyall Hill. Here we will start our Lughnasadh/Lammas pilgrimage and tune in to the essence of Lughnasadh in Avalon by means of a guided shamanic drum journey. Meet the Mother aspect of Mother Earth.

Friday August 14, 2009
We greet St.Michaels tower at the Glastonbury Tor summit and enjoy the view over the sacred Avalon landscape. W will tell you stories about the special properties of this magical hill that rests on ancient dragon paths. Many come here in search of a vision or inspiration. A powerful inner exercise will help you connect to the Earth consciousness to find your own vision or inspiration. In the afternoon you can pay a visit to Glastonbury's many new age and witches stores, meditate in the Glastonbury Goddess Temple or loose your self in the wonderful spiritual bookstores filled with magical books. At 6 pm the first part of the  weekend workshop "Bring the harvest home" by Jana Runnalls will start. Evening meal included.
