Description
Wherever you are, we invite you to join us on a synchronised picnic. Call your friends together and have a picnic! Anywhere at all – even on your living room carpet if it’s raining. Unless you wish to organise it differently, we suggest that everyone brings food to share at the picnic, together with a song, a poem, something to read out, something to show or something to talk about during the picnic. If your picnic group represents the beginning of something more long-lasting, then we suggest that you elect or confirm a Connector for that group, and that you consider each pitching in a small financial contribution to start an expenses float for that group. We ask that each picnic-group e-mails us at *before Sunday 5th September* to indicate that they will be meeting on 12th September, and please include a mobile phone number. This is for an experimental text-signal we'll be sending around at the time of the picnic.
We shall e-mail you a list of groups and mobile phone numbers by 10th September. On 12th Sept at 13.00 UK time we will send out a text from Cornwall to the first number on the list, and it will start moving from there. When the text reaches you, please forward it to the next number on the list, and also to our number (so we can check progress). That's all you need to do. This way, the message will travel around every group and return to us in Cornwall!

If you're organising a picnic in the Americas or the Asia-Pacific region, please contact us!
Why are we doing this texting experiment? Well, it gives us a sense of togetherness, it's a small exercise in linking up and working together, and it's a small statement of oneness. This is often done in meditation link-ups too, but by texting we all will know that everyone else is there! The Cornish core group will be picnicking on the top of Trencrom Hill in Cornwall, or at Treviscoe at the bottom of the hill, depending on the weather.
Let's see if we can get this experiment to work well. If it does work, we shall have further picnics and get-togethers where we'll do it again, perhaps adding some extra features. Failing all else, just knowing that friends everywhere are gathering together for a picnic is good enough! Welcome to the first Parallel Community Synchronised Picnic! It's food-and-friendship to share, and please join us!
