Stone Circles

During our 7-day trips we will visit Europe's largest stone circle in Avebury. Stand next to the awesome big stones and feel the ancestors slumber beneath your feet. During our trip, we visit a very old Celtic church and we will pass the impressive trees with their roots lying above ground, interwoven into a mosaic of greens. We walk all the way around, then through the center and past the old trees, we have the old walls where you can see the remains of a 9 meters (27 feet) deep ditch and a 16 meters (48 ft) high wall that must have given the people in the stone circle a feeling of "being embedded in the earth." There is room for your own research, or time to relax and lie on the grass between the stones, look at the gatherings of Druids, or shopping in the store with stone circle books, English rose fragrance, country gifts and local delicacies.

If the time and the program allow, we can bring a visit to the stone circles of Stanton Drew. These are less known, but lying amid the peaceful green fields of a farmer, these three circles are definitely worth a visit.

Ancestral monuments

 

In the immediate vicinity of Avebury, you can find Silbury Hill, the largest man-made mountain. Why this hill was built is still a mystery. Near Avebury / Silbury Hill beautiful crop circles regularly appear in June, July and August. Often they appear overnight and even lying on the ground with their piercing night-vision, researchers can not explain how the circles suddenly arise.

West Kenneth Long Barrow is an impressive mound where you can go inside and make contact with your ancestors, your line, your particular ancestral line. Connect and listen .... Or watch the sunset from this place where the heavenly canvas becomes enchanted with pink, orange, blue and purple colours. This place stirs something in your heart and in your soul.
